About The Position

Responsible for the delivery of accurate financial data to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders for assigned Shelter Insurance Company(s). Ensure that reports, filings and documentation comply with company's regulations, professional standards, and Statutory and/or GAAP reporting guidelines. Expected to maintain a working knowledge of Statutory Codification Principles and Practices and/or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Requirements

Demonstrated analytical abilities, excellent math, organizational and statistical skills.
Written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to prioritize to meet frequent deadlines.
Ability to use a personal computer with speed and accuracy in association with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Internet, the Workday Financial Management accounting system, and other company systems.
Ability to work additional hours to meet required deadlines during seasonal periods.
Ability to maintain schedules and work well with others.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a desire to pursue one of the following designations within the first year of employment: CPA, CLU, CPCU, AIAF, FLMI, CMA.
Typically requires minimum of two years’ experience in the accounting field.
Requires a working knowledge of GAAP.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
