About The Position

The Parking Spot is looking for a full-time Financial Reporting Accountant with 2-3 years of experience. Public accounting background is highly preferred. This person will be responsible for providing timely, insightful, actionable, and accurate financial reporting, forecasting, analysis, and recommendations to key functional areas throughout the organization. An integral member of the team, this person will manage analytical projects, provide accurate and timely reporting of financial data to the Controller. The ideal candidate will be able to set up and utilize financial models as well as conduct detailed variance analysis, assist with consolidated reporting, and satisfy ad hoc reporting requests. The position also requires booking journal entries and account analysis, with an eye towards accuracy of financial information. This position provides an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, with exposure to various aspects of corporate accounting as well as financial planning and analysis and provides a great environment to learn and develop.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 2-3 years of experience
  • CPA designation or working towards CPA
  • Exceptional Excel skills
  • Detail oriented and focused on accuracy, with the ability to think strategically and analytically
  • Experienced with financial reporting systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and a customer-oriented approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with internal and external teammates and partners at all levels
  • Ability to deliver results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Big 4/National accounting firm experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Book monthly close journal entries and prepare balance sheet reconciliations (fixed assets, construction in progress, GAAP entries)
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure the proper capitalization of fixed assets in compliance with GAAP standards
  • Reviewing the capital outflow and booking depreciation/amortization monthly
  • Research and recommend proper GAAP treatment as issues arise
  • Use Infor software to assist in the generation of key financial metrics and reports
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Support the annual financial statement audit by preparing audit schedules, providing supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls within the accounting function.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
