About The Position

7 17 Credit Union is seeking a strategic and analytical leader to oversee our financial planning, reporting, and analysis functions. This role provides direction for key financial initiatives, ensuring accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and effective planning to support the credit union’s financial goals. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Leadership Team while playing a key role in the development and execution of the organization’s Strategic Plan. Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial goals Develop cost center budgets and allocation strategies across all branches and departments Drive financial strategies that support organizational objectives and operational efficiency Conduct quarterly forecasts for income statement and balance sheet performance Partner with external vendors on multi-year financial modeling and scenario planning Reporting Oversee preparation and distribution of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders Coordinate enterprise-wide reporting for leadership and the Board of Directors Provide analysis and interpretation of financial data to support decision-making Develop and monitor KPIs and performance metrics tied to the Strategic Plan Analyze pricing strategies, peer comparisons, and product yield performance Ensure timely reporting across all operational areas, including lending, deposits, and branch performance Analytics Lead monthly P&L analysis, including budget vs. actuals, forecasts, and prior year comparisons Conduct variance analysis on revenue, margins, and operating expenses Perform ad-hoc financial modeling and scenario analysis Evaluate product, branch, and market profitability, as well as ROI on initiatives Provide financial insights on loan and deposit pricing strategies Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards and reporting requirements Monitor regulatory changes and adapt financial processes as needed Leadership & Collaboration Manage, mentor, and develop a team of financial professionals Set goals, provide coaching, and conduct performance evaluations Oversee staffing needs, including hiring and onboarding Partner cross-functionally to align financial priorities with organizational goals Strategic Planning Contribute to the development and execution of the credit union’s Strategic Plan Support research, analysis, and evaluation of corporate initiatives Provide financial guidance to senior leadership Qualifications7 17 Credit Union is seeking a strategic and analytical leader to oversee our financial planning, reporting, and analysis functions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (required)
  • Strong experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis (financial institution experience preferred)
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data to leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis within the financial services industry (credit union or banking experience preferred)
  • Progressive leadership/management experience required for Director or VP-level candidates
  • Experience preparing reports and presenting complex financial concepts to senior leadership, including CEO and Board of Directors
  • Strong knowledge of financial institution accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to manage a high volume of complex initiatives and competing priorities
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate a team
  • Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, strategic insights
  • High level of integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to stewardship of organizational resources
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and Business Intelligence tools
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of employee, member, and credit union information
