VP Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting

Goway TravelToronto, ON
Onsite

About The Position

The VP Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting is a senior finance leader responsible for owning and driving Goway Travel's global financial planning cycle, management reporting, and analytical capability. Reporting to the SVP Finance, this role sits within the financial function and serves as the bridge between financial data and strategic decision-making—owning the story behind the numbers and challenging assumptions across the business. With scope across Goway's multi-entity, multi-currency operations spanning North America, The Philippines and Australia this is a hands-on, high-impact role for a commercially minded finance professional who can build robust models, produce clear and compelling reporting, and act as a genuine analytical partner to the SVP Finance, CFO, and business unit leaders. This role will have three core areas of responsibility: 1. Planning This role owns the annual budget cycle and rolling forecasts for the entire global business — coordinating inputs from all regions and entities into a single, coherent financial plan that the SVP Finance and CFO can rely on. 2. Analytics Where the SVP Finance ensures the numbers are right, this role asks what they mean. The VP FP&A translates global financial performance into insight — identifying trends, risks, and opportunities across markets and surfacing them clearly to leadership. 3. Reporting From monthly management accounts to Board and Advisory Board packs, this role ensures that the right financial story is told to the right audience, at the right level of detail — and that reporting across the global business is consistent, timely, and actionable.

Requirements

  • CPA designation (or MBA with strong finance pedigree) preferred
  • 7–10 years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or management consulting experience, including experience with multi-entity or international operations
  • Demonstrated experience leading or playing a senior role in a consolidated financial planning and budgeting process across multiple geographies or legal entities
  • Proven ability to produce management and Board-level financial reporting that translates complex global data into clear, actionable narrative
  • Strong financial modelling skills — comfortable building multi-entity, multi-currency models, scenario analyses, and business cases from scratch
  • Hands-on experience with FP&A and BI platforms (e.g. Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent)
  • Background in travel, hospitality, or consumer businesses with international operations is an asset
  • A commercially minded, forward-looking thinker who is energised by turning complex global financial data into clear insight and better decisions
  • A strong communicator and storyteller — able to synthesise multi-entity financial performance into compelling, well-structured narrative for executive and Board audiences
  • A natural collaborator who builds credibility with business leaders by understanding their world, not just the numbers
  • Comfortable navigating multi-geography complexity — balancing global consolidation with meaningful regional insight
  • Hands-on and delivery-oriented; willing to do the work as well as lead it, in a lean, growing team
  • A constructive and proactive partner to the SVP Finance and business unit owners, contributing to a high-performing, integrated finance function

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead Goway's enterprise-wide annual budgeting process, coordinating inputs across all geographies, entities, and business units into a consolidated global plan
  • Develop and maintain rolling global forecasts, incorporating regional business drivers, currency movements, market conditions, and the impact of strategic initiatives
  • Build and maintain a suite of financial models supporting consolidated scenario planning, multi-currency sensitivity analysis, and long-range planning
  • Work closely with the SVP Finance and CFO to translate corporate strategy into financial plans, entity-level targets, and regional accountability framework.
  • Lead the monthly and quarterly global business performance review cycle, producing meaningful consolidated and entity-level variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year
  • Develop and maintain group-wide KPIs and financial metrics that capture the key drivers of Goway's performance across all regions and business lines
  • Proactively identify cross-market trends, financial risks, and performance opportunities and surface these with clarity to the SVP Finance and CFO
  • Support regional and business unit leaders in understanding and taking ownership of their financial performance within the global context
  • Design and deliver a high-quality global management reporting suite, providing consolidated and market-level views for the SVP Finance, CFO, CEO, and business unit leaders
  • Prepare Board financial reporting packages, including materials for the Hodge Family Board — clear, insightful, and appropriately pitched for each audience
  • Ensure all management reporting reflects the multi-currency, multi-entity reality of the business and is presented in a way that is meaningful and decision-ready
  • Establish and maintain global reporting cadences and standards that support comparability across entities while capturing market-specific context
  • Provide analytical support for key business decisions, including investment cases, pricing analysis, geographic expansion, and capital allocation across the entity structure
  • Develop financial models and business cases for international opportunities, including multi-currency ROI analysis, payback modelling, and risk-adjusted returns
  • Act as an analytical finance partner to the SVP Finance and CFO, bringing structured thinking and financial rigour to commercial and strategic questions
  • Support due diligence activities on potential acquisitions or strategic partnerships as required
  • Champion the use of data and analytics to improve the quality and speed of financial planning and performance management across the global business
  • Partner with IT and business leaders across all regions to improve global data infrastructure, BI tools, and consolidated analytical capability
  • Drive adoption of FP&A tools and platforms capable of handling multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation at Goway's scale
  • Build self-serve reporting and analytics capabilities that make financial insight accessible to business leaders across all geographies
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a lean, high-performing FP&A team across multiple regions (North America, Philippines, Australia).
  • Build technical and analytical capability, ensuring the team can scale with Goway’s growth while maintaining rigor and insight quality.
  • Act as the primary finance partner to regional GMs and business unit heads, helping them translate financial plans into operational action.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with a forward-looking, action-oriented lens—not just variance explanation.
  • Identify and lead improvements to FP&A systems, tools, and workflows to reduce manual effort, improve forecast accuracy, and shorten the monthly reporting cycle.
  • Champion a migration toward rolling forecasts and driver-based planning over traditional annual budgeting.
  • Own the narrative of Goway’s financial performance for the Board, Hodge Family Board, and external stakeholders.
  • Translate complex multi-currency, multi-entity results into a clear, forward-looking story—highlighting what leadership should do, not just what happened.
