About The Position

The Financial Operations Manager position integrates financial analysis related to contract management, business insurance, and credentialing and other related financial operation functions to departmental and organizational objectives. This position leads financial reporting and analytical activities related to contracts, insurance, and service delivery, including rate‑per‑unit, cost, margin, and performance analyses. The role oversees business insurance renewals, claims management, and compliance with coverage requirements. It manages the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, monitoring, and alignment with financial and operational objectives. The position also oversees organizational credentialing processes and staff, ensuring regulatory compliance and timely renewals. In partnership with accounting, RCM, operations, and leadership, the role enhances reporting systems, supports budgeting and forecasting, and mitigates financial and contractual risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Legal Studies, OR a related field (required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial operations, financial analysis, or contract management preferably in a nonprofit, human services, health care or managed care environment
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Must possess proficient computer software skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and software for creating graphics/charts
  • Must be able to obtain an AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card, provide driver's license, proof of car insurance/registration, and meet all other hiring requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with credentialing processes and payer/provider contracting is strongly preferred
  • Experience using NetSuite or other similar software systems, a PLUS

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial reporting functions related to contracts, insurance, and service delivery, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and usability for executive and operational decision‑making.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze rate‑per‑unit, cost‑per‑service, and margin analyses across programs, payers, and funding sources.
  • Perform statistical analysis and trend monitoring (volume, utilization, reimbursement, claims activity, contract performance).
  • Monitor financial performance against contractual terms, identifying underpayments, variances, and revenue risks.
  • Maintain and update fee schedules in accordance with contractual terms, payer updates, and reimbursement policies.
  • Lead and coordinate financial reporting enhancement projects within NetSuite to improve accuracy, automation, and usability of financial data.
  • Coordinate annual business insurance renewals, including data collection, application preparation, carrier communications, and comparison of coverage options.
  • Manage insurance claims reporting, documentation, and follow‑up, coordinating with brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain a centralized contract database, ensuring accurate tracking of key dates, obligations, and compliance milestones.
  • Investigate and reconcile contract changes, assuring on-going communication with management and timely submittal to funding sources.
  • Draft, evaluate and provide recommendations on a variety of contracts/agreements (revenue, service, vendor, Independent Contractor agreements, etc.), ensuring timely review and approval.
  • Track and manage provider manual requirements, including monitoring updates and ensuring organizational policies and procedures reflect current standards.
  • Conduct contract meetings on complex documents to ensure full disclosure to management staff.
  • Serve as the primary organizational lead on all contract negotiations, amendments, renewals, and related contractual matters.
  • Serve as a liaison between legal, compliance, credentialing, and operational teams to resolve contract-related and regulatory issues.
  • Oversee and manage the credentialing processes for employees, ensuring timely submission, verification, and renewal of licenses, certifications, and other required documentation.
  • Directly manage Credentialing staff.
