About The Position

The Financial Navigator-Oncology position is a full-time role within Advocate Lutheran General Hospital's Infusion department. This role is responsible for optimizing patient coverage and care, program development and expansion, and provider education and consultation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managed care, oncology, or customer service, with experience in claims and provider offices being preferred. This position requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. The candidate must be familiar with federal and state managed care programs, HIPAA, and provide a high level of service to patients and their families, potentially being exposed to contagious diseases. The role involves balancing clinical coordination with financial navigation responsibilities.

Requirements

  • BS in Social Work, Finance or Care Management or related field
  • 3 years managed care experience or 2 + years in oncology care or 3 years customer service experience
  • Claims experience and provider office experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • ability to suceed in a changing environment
  • ability to work independently and prioritize assignments
  • ability to problem solves and handle difficult calls/situations and maintain professionalism
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Familiar with Federal and State managed care programs
  • Familiar with Physician order requirements, consent for treatment guidelines, HIPAA, etc.
  • Customer service background essential, with understanding of and commitment to providing a consistently high-level of service to patients and their families.
  • Candidate must self direct priorities and balance the clinical coordination with financial navigation responsibilities.
