About The Position

The Financial Health Community Manager connects Credit Human’s financial health mission with the distinct needs of each community. By turning local insight into coordinated partnerships and programs, it helps reduce financial stress, strengthens community trust, and builds stronger financial lives. The manager works with local organizations, business partners, and market leaders to design programs, and partnerships that help reduce financial stress, expand access to relevant financial solutions, and support sustainable membership growth.

Requirements

Five or more years of experience in community development, financial health, financial services, nonprofit partnership management, business development, market development, or a related community-facing role.
Demonstrated experience building and managing external partnerships with community organizations, nonprofits, public-sector partners, employers, housing organizations, or other mission-aligned stakeholders.
Experience coordinating cross-functional work across internal teams, including marketing, financial health centers (our branches), operations, lending, member experience, or product/service partners.
Experience planning and executing community outreach, financial education, events, campaigns, or programs that support measurable community or member outcomes.
Experience using data, community insight, market information, or program results to identify opportunities, evaluate effectiveness, and improve execution.
Strong relationship-building and community engagement skills with the ability to earn trust, represent Credit Human professionally, and work effectively with diverse community partners.
Strategic planning and execution skills, including the ability to translate community needs and market priorities into practical outreach, partnership, and program plans.
Strong written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills for communicating with community partners, members, internal teams, and leaders.
Ability to coordinate cross-functional work, influence without direct authority, manage competing priorities, and follow through on commitments.
Analytical skills to use market data, community insight, outreach results, and member feedback to evaluate opportunities and measure impact.
Working knowledge of financial health concepts, credit union or financial services products, community development practices, and barriers that affect financial well-being.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and the ability to learn internal systems used for reporting, relationship tracking, communications, and performance measurement.
Must be able to travel throughout the New Orleans market to support community events, partnership meetings, and outreach activities. Occasional evening and weekend participation may be required. Approximately 50% travel within the greater New Orleans region.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within the assigned market to attend community meetings, partner events, and Credit Human activities.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, public administration, community development, nonprofit management, marketing, communications, social sciences, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a credit union, bank, CDFI, community development organization, housing organization, or mission-driven financial institution.
Experience working in new-market development, neighborhood revitalization, financial capability, affordable housing, homeownership, small business support, or other community impact initiatives.
Supervisory and team leadership
Spanish-language proficiency or experience working in multilingual communities a plus, depending on market needs.
Experience with CRM, community impact tracking, business intelligence, survey, or reporting tools.
Knowledge of affordable housing, homeownership, small business development, workforce development, or other local financial health drivers.
Master’s degree in business administration, public administration, community development, nonprofit leadership, finance, or related field.
CUNA/America’s Credit Unions Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP), leading to the Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation.

Responsibilities

Assess community needs, market conditions, and barriers to financial well-being to guide an effective local strategy.
Build mission-aligned partnerships that expand community reach, financial health impact, and sustainable membership growth.
Coordinate Financial Health Centers, Commercial Lending, Home Loans, Marketing, and other key internal stakeholders to align community initiatives, outreach, products, services, and messaging with Credit Human’s market approach.
Design programs, campaigns, and events that connect people with relevant financial solutions and reduce financial stress.
Strengthen Credit Human’s credibility and awareness as a trusted, mission-aligned financial health partner.
Measure community engagement and impact, using market insights and proven practices to continuously improve results.
