About The Position

The main purpose of this full-time professional nursing position is to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the overall Maternal Child Health program, including the reproductive health, Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting, immunizations, lead case management, and other essential maternal child health programs within the Community Health Department. This includes assisting in the interpretation and implementation of departmental policies and procedures and preparing & monitoring program budgets in collaboration with subordinate program supervisors and with the oversight of the Director of Nursing. This position will also represent nursing services on appropriate agency and state committees and is responsible for supervising subordinate nursing program supervisors and other health care staff assigned to the program. Additionally, this position participates in a rotational on-call schedule for 24/7 response to public health emergencies and urgent agency needs. The selected applicant must be willing and able to work and travel to all Worcester County Health Department sites and may be required to work some evening and/or weekend hours. This position is not telework eligible.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of experience as a Community Health Nurse in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity or one year of experience as a Community Health Nurse and two years of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
  • Possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
  • Provide the facility with a telephone number at which they can be reached.
