About The Position

Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies is seeking a Financial Counselor Lead to join their Women’s Patient Access team. This leadership role involves ensuring patients and families receive clear, supportive, and accurate financial guidance while maintaining excellence in patient access services. The hospital is a nationally recognized leader in women’s and newborn care and one of the most advanced maternity hospitals in the country.

Requirements

• 2+ years in financial, business office, or customer service environment
• Healthcare systems experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting financial counseling and patient access processes
• Accurately collecting and entering patient/guarantor demographic and financial information
• Verifying insurance benefits and obtaining necessary authorizations
• Resolving insurance issues, including pending, denied, or appealed accounts
• Collecting co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
• Establishing payment arrangements and assisting with financial applications
• Providing service recovery and resolving patient billing concerns with professionalism
• Ensuring compliance with all Patient Financial Services policies and procedures
• Serving as a resource and support for team members and department initiatives
