About The Position

New Dawn Treatment Center has been a leader in addiction treatment for over 30 years, serving more than a thousand individuals annually across our 10 locations in Sacramento, CA. We are dedicated to providing evidence-based treatment with a person-centered approach, ensuring that every client experiences transformative care. We are seeking a Financial Coordinator to join our team at New Dawn Treatment Center. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our medical staff and enhancing the client experience through compassionate care and efficient medical assistance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One or more years' experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Must have and maintain a valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, and maintain personal auto insurance coverage.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
  • Must have a current TB test or chest x-ray.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well and quickly under pressure both individually and as part of a team.
  • Excellent project management skills to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • General reception of clients and prospective clients.
  • Complete preadmission assessments and new client packet.
  • Verify all insurance benefits.
  • Communicate with the client’s insurance coverage and what they will pay out of pocket for treatment.
  • Adds clients to Vista Research within 24 hours of intake.
  • Collects payments, organizes and creates payment plans in ERM and tracks payments by following payment plan approval process.
  • Add medication receipts to EMR, along with applicable charges.
  • Ensure all necessary financial forms are signed and completed correctly when a client is moved to a different level of care.
  • Discusses insurance authorizations and differentials when a client might be denied residential care.
  • Ensure client balances are paid in full before discharge, unless an approved payment plan is in place.
  • Completes disability (EDD) and leave of absence paperwork (FMLA) if needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
