About The Position

Intermountain Farmers Association (IFA) is a regional farm supply co-op with diverse operations including feed production, agronomy services, and retail farm stores throughout the intermountain west. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of FINANCIAL CONTROLLER . SUMMARY: You will lead IFA's accounting team to navigate the wide range of issues involved in running and building our business. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.
  • Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) helpful
  • Experience: At least two to five years of progressive related accounting experience in industry or public accounting; proven working experience in a senior accounting role preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles
  • Strong financial statement analysis capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, decision-making and analytical abilities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain financial information to senior management
  • Ability to collaboratively partner with other team members and stakeholders
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of accounting software (SAP experience preferred) and Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using SAP
  • 1+ years public accounting experience

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Preparing monthly and annual financial statements
  • Accounting Operations: Managing day-to-day accounting, including general ledger, payroll, and AP/AR
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Coordinating development of annual budgets and financial forecasting reports.
  • Compliance & Audit: Ensuring adherence to regulations, reporting requirements, and managing external audits.
  • Coaching and Managing: accounting team and coordination with other departments.
  • Takes ownership of the development and coaching of team members
  • Research and apply accounting guidance to develop solutions to accounting issues
  • Complete other accounting/finance projects as necessary
  • Prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records and reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings (sales and use taxes, property taxes, etc.)
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
