Financial Coach

InteCare•Indianapolis, IN

About The Position

The Financial Coach leads Mission Ready Finances, InteCare's one-year financial wellness pilot for Veterans and Veteran families enrolled in SSVF. The coach provides eight individual sessions using Money Habitudes to help participants understand their relationship with money, build financial confidence, and make practical changes that support their goals and long-term housing stability. The role includes receiving and following up on referrals, conducting an initial Money Habitudes assessment, and providing seven follow-up coaching sessions guided by the My Money Habitudes workbook. The coach creates a supportive, judgment-free environment; helps participants identify practical financial changes and participant-led goals; monitors progress; and connects participants with appropriate resources when needs extend beyond the coach's role. With participant consent, the coach coordinates with case managers and other Veteran Services team members to support housing stability plans, and follows up after program completion to assess changes in financial knowledge, confidence, and decision-making. The coach maintains professional boundaries and does not provide legal, tax, investment, lending, or clinical advice outside the position's training and scope. The coach carries out the pilot according to its approved grant plan, timeline, budget, and performance expectations. Responsibilities include tracking participation and outcome data, maintaining accurate and confidential records, supplying updates and supporting documentation to the Director of Veteran Services for grant reports, monitoring trends and barriers, and supporting grant monitoring, evaluation, audits, and funder requests.
