Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in a business related field (accounting, finance, economics, business, statistics, etc.) plus 1 or more years of professional experience in financial analysis or budget management.
  • Experience with analytical tools.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong PC skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Docs/Sheets.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in managing sophisticated financial models used by University leadership for organization-wide decision making.
  • Create financial reports, charts, presentations, and executive reporting materials.
  • Conduct detailed month-end variance analysis.
  • As part of the forecast process, analyze key drivers and causes of material budget variances and communicate findings through written, verbal, and presentation-based reporting.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis as needed, such as budget and financial reports for various modalities of instruction.
  • In coordination with the FP&A team and University-wide budget managers, manage budget adjustment entries and assist with maintaining the commitment control process by utilizing the University's ERP system, Oracle PeopleSoft.
  • Serve as the primary administrator of the FP&A central support services system, including intake management, prioritization, assignment tracking, and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate and partner with University and Finance leadership, in addition to academic and operational areas to support the development of the University's annual budget.
  • Assist University-wide budget managers with the University's planning and budgeting system (Oracle PBCS), budget development, financial reporting, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Manage and coordinate departmental projects, timelines, and task tracking for the FP&A team.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of planning, reporting, and operational processes while assisting with the administration of FP&A systems and tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
