About The Position

Cengage is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its Financial Data Analytics team and provide financial and related operational support for Cengage Group. The role focuses on reporting and analysis related to royalty expenses and payments, ad hoc analyses and reports, and strategic planning. The analyst will work with large volumes of data, use available resources to solve problems, and build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills are needed to work effectively with management and staff at all levels.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Data Analysis.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Sophisticated Microsoft Excel skills.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and rapidly changing priorities and activities.

Responsibilities

Complete investment analysis to execute business strategies.
Allocate revenue for royalty payments.
Analyze monthly royalty expense results for Senior Leadership.
Produce guidance for setting annual and quarterly forecasts.
Build ad hoc analysis reports for distribution to partners.
Ensure the accuracy of monthly royalty payments.
Compile financial information to support the product team with guidance and oversight on the profitability of partner agreements.
Develop relationships with the Product Organization and Finance Leadership.
Participate in ad hoc reporting, initiatives, and analysis.
Investigate discrepancies and provide recommendations.
