About The Position

The Financial Analyst role involves gathering and analyzing data from various sources to ensure data integrity for analysis. The analyst will provide consistent, relevant, and accurate data, along with guidance and knowledge of available data definitions. This position serves as a resource to assigned clients, compiles raw data, researches industry trends and benchmarks, and normalizes data for a centralized format. The analyst will analyze, report, and compare data to benchmarks, determine trends, prepare cost analyses, define data definitions, and document data limitations. Responsibilities include preparing spreadsheets and reports with charts, graphs, mailing lists, maps, and ad hoc requests, potentially making presentations, and providing recommendations based on findings. The role also involves providing input on policies and procedures, participating in departmental projects, and performing other assigned duties. The nature of the work requires increasing independence, with guidance sought only for complex issues. Work review is periodic, and the role may provide general guidance or training to junior personnel.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in a related discipline OR MS/MA in a related field.
  • Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field (for BS/BA) OR 2-4 years of experience in a related field (for MS/MA).
  • Skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.

  • Certification is required in some areas.
