Background & Purpose of the Job: The Financial Analyst is a core business partner within the FP&A function, responsible for the deep understanding and interpretation of financial performance across Sales, OPEX, and Service segments. The role goes beyond reporting — it owns the analytical narrative behind the numbers, translates operational dynamics into financial insights, and actively supports decision-making at the management level. Data accuracy, intellectual curiosity, and analytical rigor are the foundations of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 3 – 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis or FP&A.
  • Solid command of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis methodologies.
  • Understanding of IFRS principles as applied to financial reporting.
  • Ability to build driver-based financial models that link operational inputs to financial outputs.
  • Comfort working in multi-currency environments and explaining FX translation effects on reported results.
  • Analytical ownership: does not stop at describing data — interprets, challenges, and draws conclusions.
  • Business partnering communicates clearly with senior stakeholders, adapts the message to the audience, and proactively shares relevant insights.
  • Precision and reliability: strong attention to detail.
  • Autonomy with accountability works independently while keeping the manager informed on progress, blockers, and risks.
  • Structured written and verbal communication — capable of producing executive-ready outputs.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel: complex formulas, dynamic arrays, pivot tables, financial modeling — must be able to build from scratch.
  • SAP Analysis for Business (or equivalent CO-PA/BW reporting environment).
  • AI-assisted analysis: demonstrated comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to accelerate financial analysis, drafting, and modeling work.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Qlik Sense or similar reporting tools is a plus.
  • Power Query: data transformation, multi-source consolidation, and automated refresh workflows is a plus.
  • QliK Sense or equivalent BI tool: report building and data visualization.
  • Python (basic to intermediate): data manipulation, automation of repetitive analytical tasks — willingness to develop further is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own monthly sales and gross margin reporting by business segment, product line, and customer — with full command of the drivers behind variances.
  • Perform structured variance analysis vs. Budget, Forecast, and Prior Year, decomposing results into volume, mix, price, and FX effects.
  • Understand and explain the impact of EUR/USD translation on reported margin, distinguishing between FX-driven and operational performance shifts.
  • Develop and maintain volume/mix/price bridge models to support executive-level commentary.
  • Provide qualitative, manager-ready explanations for performance deviations.
  • Support forecast preparation cycles with independently built bottom-up assumptions.
  • Own OPEX tracking across functions and cost centers, with full understanding of structural vs. volume-driven cost behavior.
  • Analyze and explain expense variances vs. Budget and Forecast, distinguishing one-time items from recurring trends.
  • Support headcount reporting and cost center analysis in coordination with HR and functional managers.
  • Validate accruals during monthly closing in collaboration with the Share Service Center (SSC) accounting team.
  • Flag cost anomalies proactively.
  • Own the Service segment of the P&L end-to-end — revenue, gross margin, labor cost, provisions, and inventory.
  • Calculate and explain all Service variances vs. Budget and Forecast, decomposing results into volume, pricing, labor efficiency, provision movements, and mix effects — with clear root cause for every material deviation.
  • Understand, calculate, and monitor the labor factor — technician utilization, efficiency rates, and cost-per-call — and actively work with the Field Service team to connect financial outcomes to operational KPIs and co-develop action plans for margin improvement.
  • Build and maintain the full-Service P&L model, calculating all drivers from revenue recognition through gross margin, including goodwill credits, warranty adjustments, billing corrections, and cost allocations.
  • Understand, calculate, and maintain all Service-related provisions: installation provisions for units invoiced but not confirmed installed, warranty reserves, slow-moving and obsolete inventory exposure — with monthly reconciliation and variance commentary.
  • Support inventory monitoring for service parts and units: monitor stock levels, valuation, and provision adequacy in coordination with operations and the SSC team.
  • Produce monthly Service performance reporting with manager-ready variance explanations.
  • Support monthly closing activities with structured deliverables and on-time execution.
  • Prepare and maintain reporting packages for management review, including executive summaries with clear bottom-line-up-front framing.
  • Build and maintain financial models that are formula-driven, auditable, and scalable.
  • Ensure data consistency and traceability across reporting systems.
  • Support internal audit and internal control documentation as required.
  • Maintain proactive, structured communication with the SSC team and cross-functional stakeholders.
