Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing both tax and accounting files, including the autonomous oversight of specific group entities. Additionally, this role takes place within a context of restructuring and ERP optimization. You will contribute to various ad-hoc mandates supporting management, specifically aimed at improving data reliability. Requirements

  • CPA Designation: Obtained or in progress.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in a firm or corporate environment, with hands-on exposure to both accounting and taxation.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax obligations, with the ability to navigate diverse files and learn quickly in complex environments.
  • Ability to manage files independently, set priorities, and exercise sound judgment in mandate follow-ups.
  • Exceptional rigor, organizational skills, and attention to detail, especially regarding documentation, data validation, and deadline management.
  • A genuine interest in financial data quality, compliance, process optimization, and continuous improvement of workflows.
  • Comfortable working in a transforming environment where priorities may shift rapidly and a proactive, structured approach is essential.
  • Strong analytical mind, professional discretion, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Curiosity, resourcefulness, and a desire to develop cross-functional expertise in a role offering varied and evolving exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage indirect tax files, including preparation, remittance tracking, variance analysis, and resolving issues related to GST, QST, and other applicable tax obligations.
  • Prepare, structure, and analyze documentation for corporate tax files to support the preparation of Canadian and U.S. tax returns by external specialists.
  • Coordinate the tracking of Canadian and U.S. tax accounts, respond to government inquiries, and support tax audits in collaboration with external partners.
  • Take autonomous ownership of the full accounting cycle for specific group entities, ensuring accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial data integrity.
  • Prepare year-end files, including financial statements and supporting documentation; collaborate closely with external auditors during reviews and audits.
  • Assist in data collection, analysis, and documentation for grant applications and tax credits, particularly related to R&D or other eligible programs.
  • Participate in various ad-hoc mandates supporting management, including financial analysis and specific projects related to the group’s growth and structuring.
  • Actively contribute to the improvement of accounting and tax processes, the implementation of financial tools, and system optimization to ensure compliance and data quality.
  • Participate in projects related to ERP development and financial system optimization, ensuring data consistency and operational efficiency.
