About The Position

The Financial Analyst performs a variety of accounting, administrative support and building manager work. This position monitors, prepares and maintains financial records and reports. In addition, the position also performs complex administrative duties in support of the Section Commanding Officer and is the main point of contact for building concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or directly related field.
  • At least two (2) years of related administrative and financial experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors section financial transactions, contracts, and covert business financial recordkeeping systems.
  • Coordinates administrative services in gathering and processing financial information.
  • Maintains accounts, bills, bookkeeping systems, and case management records for covert operations.
  • Balances and reconciles complex accounts including confidential informant payouts, drug buys, monthly spending reports, and covert account deposits
  • Reviews, verifies, and processes accounting data, financial transactions, and required documentation.
  • Conducts monthly, quarterly and annual financial audits and prepares related financial reports
  • Creates and maintains databases, spreadsheets, reports, and financial/statistical records.
  • Coordinates with Section Commanding Officer to reconcile budget and forecast spending.
  • Assists with grant creation, organization, management, and spending, and reporting.
  • Maintains and revises filing, logging, inventory, and record keeping systems for administrative and financial documents.
  • Serves as point of contact for federal and city-funded inventories and maintains section inventory databases.
  • Provides administrative support including filing, organizing records and invoices, composing memorandums, processing reports, and transcribing confidential documents.
  • Provides Notary services and coordinates shipping and delivery of packages.
  • Maintains and initiates documents for undercover identifications and license plates through the Department of Revenue.
  • Coordinates with vendors, utility providers, alarm companies, and contractors for covert locations and office operations.
  • Submits work orders, schedules repairs, escorts vendors, and serves as liaison between building management and the police department.
  • Assists with equipment check-in/check-out procedures for employees.
  • Answers and routes telephone, in-person, and electronic inquiries; relays messages and directs visitors appropriately.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
