About The Position

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for a variety of financial and budgetary activities at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study. The position will facilitate financial transactions for the school’s academic and administrative departments and programs, and provide internal control review of fiscal activity on operating, restricted funds, endowment and sponsored research accounts. The analyst will analyze and develop financial spreadsheets and perform variance analysis, provide statistical data, investigate, resolve account spending discrepancies, manage financial records and files, and ensure consistent maintenance and accuracy of such reports. The analyst will also initiate, develop, and respond to various types of inquiries regarding financial policies, procedures, deadlines, etc. and serve as a resource to the Gallatin community on financial and budgetary matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 3+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education or experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of finance and budgeting concepts.
  • Familiarity with Windows-based software applications, including proficiency with databases and spreadsheet software such as Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years relevant experience including budget administration in an educational/non-profit institution.
  • Knowledge of Workday a plus.
