About The Position

The Financial Analyst will assist in the preparation and analysis of the annual Medicare Cost Report and New Jersey SHARE report for timely and accurate submission. This role involves coordinating physician time studies, maintaining cost report and SHARE report schedules, reviewing cost report schedules for accuracy and completeness, and interacting with department managers. The analyst will also prepare and analyze IRIS data submission and related projects, collect and review data for accuracy, and ensure compliance with governmental regulations. Additionally, the position supports the annual operating budget process, including the revenue budget model and statistical budget schedules, and maintains the CBISA database for community benefits reporting. The role also assists with the annual Medicaid DSH report and miscellaneous account analysis requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred.
  • Two to three years’ accounting experience in a hospital setting is required.
  • Computer software: Intermediate Excel and Word is required.
  • Familiarity with all other Microsoft office products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of the annual Medicare Cost Report and New Jersey SHARE report for timely and accurate submission.
  • Coordinate physician time studies, maintain cost report and SHARE report schedules, review cost report schedules for accuracy and completeness and interact with dept. managers to discuss/request schedules needed for the timely and accurate completion of the cost reports.
  • Prepare and analyze IRIS data submission and related projects.
  • Collect all required data needed for IRIS submission.
  • Review data accuracy for IRIS submission and resolve any issues related to IRIS submission.
  • Prepare IRIS related project and ensure all required governmental regulations on IRIS to be implemented.
  • Assist in the annual operating budget process and the completion of the revenue budget model.
  • Prepare the statistical budget schedules and other operating revenue budget schedules.
  • Provide analysis/feedback regarding revenue/statistical budget issues.
  • Maintain CBISA (Community Benefit Inventory Social Accountability) data base for annual community benefits reporting on required Financial data.
  • Assist with preparation of the annual Medicaid DSH (Disproportionate Share Hospital) report and assist with miscellaneous account analysis requests as needed.
