About The Position

The Financial Analyst at Bass Pro Shops will provide critical financial analysis and insights to support our unique retail business. The ideal candidate will have a natural sense of curiosity, the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement, the courage to challenge the status quo, and the insight to make strategic recommendations that drive business success.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis
Exceptional Excel skills to perform financial modeling and analysis
Ability to identify and understand trends through data and articulate results to all levels of leadership
Working knowledge of business intelligence applications and/or cloud services (e.g., PowerBI, etc)
Has demonstrated financial acumen and/or experience in the areas of forecasting, budgeting and analysis
A self-starter with the ability to meet tight deadlines, balance competing priorities and achieve results in a rapidly changing work environment
Ability to identify, recommend and implement process improvement in daily functions
Effective communications skills, both verbal and written
Proficient in Microsoft suite of programs including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Nice To Haves

Master's degree or professional certifications (CFA, CPA) preferred
Comfort working with complex data tables a plus
Knowledge of TM1 software is a plus

Responsibilities

Create and refine complex financial models that forecast business performance.
Regularly prepare detailed reports on financial performance, providing strategic recommendations.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads.
Rigorously analyze costs and spending, making recommendations for efficiencies and savings.
Act as a key finance partner to business units, proactively providing financial insights and support.
Evaluate potential investments in business for equipment or digital assets using financial modeling to assess risk and potential returns, and present findings with conviction.
Continuously seek and identify opportunities for process improvements, enhancing financial reporting and analysis.
