Potential to extend. The Financial Analyst, Shared Services supports day-to-day finance operations for local IRC offices as part of a centralized finance shared services structure. This position reports to RAI HQ Finance while working closely with local office leadership and program staff to ensure financial transactions are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with IRC policies and donor requirements. The role supports routine accounting and financial operations that enable effective program implementation. This will be a remote position. The Financial Analyst will perform daily accounting duties, including transaction processing, account reconciliations, financial documentation review, expense coding, and financial data entry. The role also helps maintain accurate financial records, supports standardized finance processes, and serves as a liaison between the local office and HQ finance teams to ensure consistent and efficient financial operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial operations.
  • Experience with accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial data entry required.
  • Experience supporting grant or project-based financial management preferred.
  • Experience working in nonprofit organizations and/or donor-funded environments is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to review financial data for accuracy and proper coding.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with finance and non-finance staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems required.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable transactions in accordance with IRC financial policies and procedures.
  • Review invoices and expense documentation for accuracy, proper coding, and required approvals.
  • Ensure timely entry and processing of payments and maintain organized supporting documentation.
  • Support preparation and submission of donor invoices in coordination with finance and program staff.
  • Track receivables and assist with maintaining accurate documentation to support billing and collections.
  • Help ensure invoicing aligns with donor requirements and approved grant budgets.
  • Assist with month-end close activities including transaction review, journal entry preparation, and financial data validation.
  • Support timely completion of financial close processes and help ensure transactions are recorded in the appropriate accounting period.
  • Assist with uploading and maintaining grant and contract budgets in IRC financial systems.
  • Review submitted budgets to verify coding accuracy, appropriate use of the chart of accounts, and alignment with approved grant agreements.
  • Provide operational finance support to the assigned local office by completing finance-related tasks requested by office finance leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support finance operations and organizational priorities.
