About The Position

USAA is seeking a Financial Analyst Lead in Technology to drive financial planning, forecasting, modeling, and expense management. This role addresses complex business challenges and supports strategic decision-making by providing advanced financial analysis and insights on key business drivers. The position involves mentoring team members, coordinating team priorities and workflow, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role also focuses on maintaining the integrity of financial operations while promoting continuous improvement and business performance. USAA offers a flexible work environment requiring 4 days in the office per week, with potential locations in San Antonio, TX, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 8 years of experience conducting complex analysis and providing actionable insights to various stakeholders.
  • Experience using databases and applications to analyze complex business domains (for example: AI, including GenAI).
  • Experience communicating key business and financial concepts that result in strategic decision making.

Nice To Haves

  • US military experience gained through military service or gained as a military spouse / domestic partner.
  • Financial experience supporting technology.
  • Experience submitting monthly accruals.
  • Experience with monthly variance commentary.
  • Advanced experience working in Apptio, Hyperion Essbase, and Oracle.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, develops, and motivates the team to provide advanced analytics and insights around key business drivers.
  • Anticipates opportunities to tackle the most complex and / or unique business problems, providing proactive financial solutions with holistic and forward-looking perspectives to enable better decision making by senior management.
  • Consistently interacts with senior management becoming their trusted advisor on all financial issues.
  • Makes recommendations to solve short-term, as well as strategic financial business problems.
  • Teaches and mentors others about complex financial processes, business drivers and systems ensuring information sharing and knowledge transfer.
  • Reviews analysts work and assists management in assigning tasks and managing workflow.
  • Leads initiatives to develop an integrated enterprise planning process from multiple companies and/or staff agency processes and technologies.
  • Directs analyses and guides the development, enhancement, and implementation of critical processes, programs, and technologies.
  • Anticipates opportunities and potential solutions, leads cross-functional teams through the problem resolution process, and advises senior management on issues.
  • Acquires and applies expert knowledge of the business, its products and processes.
  • Performs complex and often unique work assignments and problem resolution across multiple systems, functions, or processes.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
