About The Position

This Senior Financial Analyst position prepares and reviews monthly financial data, submitting analysis and findings to Senior Management across the organization. The position assists with the closing of the accounting records for multiple companies and is responsible for both making accounting entries and for investigating/correcting any accounting errors that may occur. The Senior Analyst will also assist in the preparation of Executive Management and Board reporting, tracking KPI’s, and reporting on key business initiatives and drivers, along with other ad-hoc analysis to help support the operations teams. Exposure may include but not limited to buy-side M&A, including due diligence and deal mechanisms, buy-side integration and synergy capture reporting, annual audit process, tax reporting, and managing company segment, divisional, and regional financial reporting. This position requires cross-functional interactions with several departments within the company to aid in the completion of complex projects, evaluate and improve/implement new processes, and assist other members of the financial analyst team. The Senior Analyst may also be responsible for supervising other associates on the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 3-5 years accounting or finance experience.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong Excel and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Ability to work well under time constraints.
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who initiates and drives projects toward completion.

  • Ability to read and understanding financial statements and financial metrics.
  • Experience working with accounting ERP systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree, CPA qualification or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry highly preferred.
  • Previous knowledge of data mining and performing SQL queries.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and reviews monthly financial data, submitting analysis and findings to Senior Management across the organization.
  • Assists with the closing of the accounting records for multiple companies.
  • Makes accounting entries and investigates/corrects any accounting errors that may occur.
  • Assists in the preparation of Executive Management and Board reporting.
  • Tracks KPIs.
  • Reports on key business initiatives and drivers.
  • Performs ad-hoc analysis to support operations teams.
  • Manages company segment, divisional, and regional financial reporting.
  • Interacts cross-functionally with several departments to aid in complex projects.
  • Evaluates and improves/implements new processes.
  • Assists other members of the financial analyst team.
  • May be responsible for supervising other associates on the team.
  • Prepare financial statements and analysis, such as contract profitability, product sales, customer or sales rep sales.
  • Meet with management to identify business information needs and determine appropriate sources of information to meet those needs.
  • Oversee the month end close process, including researching any complex accounting issues, advising accounting of any adjustments required, and assisting with internal process reviews/implementation of necessary changes.
  • Research complex inventory issues in the company’s accounting system.
  • Provide guidance on resolutions to issues identified.
  • Work cross-functionally with customer service, plant operations, and sales teams to improve the financial and operational processes within the organization.
  • Work in collaboration with entity and departmental managers and other staff to identify process improvement projects.
  • Completes special projects upon request.
  • Assist less experienced analysts.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
