About The Position

The Department of Radiology is seeking a Financial Analyst II to join their Budget Team! The Financial Analyst II provides comprehensive budget, compensation, and financial reporting support for the Department of Radiology, with a primary focus on overseeing complex physician compensation structures and related financial reporting across the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and UW Health (UWH). This role manages budgets with multiple funding sources, supports extensive compensation tracking and required documentation, and responds to frequent, time-sensitive financial changes. The position develops short- and long-term budget projections, conducts detailed financial analyses, prepares complex reports, and ensures compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience creating financial reports, analyzing financial data, developing forecasts and budgets, and using data to identify trends and make business recommendations.
  • Bachelor's Degree Required; focus in Finance Accounting, Business Administration or a similar field.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development, maintenance, and monitoring of automated financial information systems and budgets, and disseminates updates and results to leadership when appropriate
  • Instructs, trains, and provides feedback to departmental financial staff based on developed goals. Advises on departmental best practices.
  • Leads departmental financial staff by establishing vision and tactical approach by which essential tasks should be completed
  • Develops and revises strategic approaches to be used for accomplishing goals
  • Uses statistical analysis, simulations, predictive modeling, or other methods to analyze information and develop solutions to business problems
  • Recommends and/or approves general ledger entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Leads general ledger reconciliations and complex general ledger account analysis.
  • Leads the development and implementation of financial processes throughout the department, including the development and delivery of timelines, reports, and recommendations for improvement
  • May lead other financial staff
  • Prepares reports, spreadsheets, and schedules with compiled and conformed financial data from multiple reporting systems

Benefits

  • The starting salary/hourly wage for the position is $81,906; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
