About The Position

The Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind (USDB) invites you to consider an enjoyable and gratifying employment opportunity with our school. We are looking for a responsible and experienced Financial Analyst II to join our team. This position is based out of our Ogden campus.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of fiscal/financial and budget management; applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures and the ability to interpret and apply them; agency and/or organizational program(s); State of Utah payroll processes and procedures; research methods, techniques, and/or sources of information.
  • Ability to prepare financial reports and documentation.
  • Use automated accounting and/or financial computer systems.
  • Find, gather, and collect information or data.
  • Use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
  • Make a decision or solve a problem by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
  • Evaluate information against a set of standards.
  • Use State of agency-specific software application program(s) such as SAP (payroll), FINET, HRIS, SmartFind Express, Google Drive, Data Warehouse, as well as Excel and other MS Office software.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize time and workload in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Perform payroll processing and monitoring.
  • Analyze/review timesheets for accuracy, proper approval, etc. in a timely, professional manner.
  • Ensure employee access to the VANTAGE system; responds to employee & supervisor questions.
  • Prepare reports of findings, conclusions, or recommendations, and presents or defends work products during audits or other periods of review.
  • Gather paper payroll documents for all USDB staff and enter on a biweekly payroll schedule, ensuring accuracy and correct approvals.
  • Make payroll corrections on electronic timesheets as needed.
  • Processing accounts payable.
  • Gather invoices and enter all vendor payments for USDB, ensuring purchasing policies are followed and all receiving documents and payment approvals are in place.
  • Work with vendors to resolve any missing payments or open invoices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
