About The Position

Our client, a leading global financial services firm, is seeking a Financial Analyst II to support a major IFRS lending accounting transformation initiative. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in loan product control, investment banking accounting, or financial reporting who enjoy working on process improvements, accounting analysis, and cross-functional projects. You'll partner with Accounting, Product Control, Accounting Policy, and Technology teams to help modernize accounting processes, support automation initiatives, and ensure accurate financial reporting under IFRS standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience working as a Product Controller or in loan accounting.
  • Strong project coordination or project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting experience within an investment banking environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and U.S. GAAP accounting standards.
  • Experience supporting accounting transformation or automation projects.
  • Exposure to financial reporting, regulatory reporting, or accounting policy initiatives.
  • Experience working with cross-functional business and technology teams.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business and accounting requirements from key stakeholders.
  • Analyze lending accounting treatment under IFRS and compare it with existing U.S. GAAP processes.
  • Identify differences in reporting, valuation, and disclosure requirements.
  • Assist with developing accounting requirements, business rules, and functional specifications for automation initiatives.
  • Partner with Technology teams to design, implement, and validate system enhancements.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), issue resolution, and business sign-off.
  • Prepare project status updates and presentation materials for senior leadership.
  • Track project milestones, risks, decisions, and deliverables.
  • Document accounting positions, business rationale, and materiality assessments related to IFRS conversion.
  • Support governance activities to ensure project timelines and reporting commitments are met.
