The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is seeking a Financial Aid Scholarship Counselor to join the UNLV Financial Aid department. This highly visible role is responsible for assisting with the timely processing of scholarship awards and ensuring that various scholarship programs disburse funds according to donor specifications and institutional policies. The position requires complex knowledge of Federal Title IV regulations, scholarship administration rules, the Millennium Scholarship Program, and other state scholarship/grant programs. The Scholarship Counselor will collaborate with various internal departments, including the Recruitment team, UNLV Foundation, Graduate College, and external entities such as foundations and the Nevada Treasurer’s Office. A key responsibility includes analyzing scholarship program data using spreadsheets and reports. All positions in Academic Affairs contribute to UNLV's core mission of increasing enrollment and promoting equitable student success by addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support to enhance student enrollment, retention, progression, timely completion, and equitable outcomes. This role is expected to embody the university's core values, demonstrating professionalism, collegiality, ethical conduct, and a commitment to inclusion. Occasional evening and weekend work, as well as occasional travel, may be necessary.
