Requirements

• Two (2) years (24 months) of combined college coursework (30 semester hours = 1 year) and/or work experience in office, business, or customer/relations activities.
• Knowledge of appropriate use of professional judgment to adjust FAFSA information when dependency status appeals are received.
• Knowledge of University, state, and federal financial aid programs - eligibility criteria, application processes, reconciliation of inconsistencies in applicant information.
• Knowledge of University payment policies and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of U.S. tax forms and relationship of tax form items to financial aid application information.
• Knowledge of record flow within Banner.
• Knowledge of technology to use information sources and produce student correspondence using word processing and email programs.
• Working knowledge of the University.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial contact for students, parents, and university members.
• Interview applicants and explain information to applicants and recipients of student financial aid.
• Counsel student borrowers about debt management through the use of various websites.
• Interpret and revise applicant's records, including recalculation of financial need, using Banner.
• Produce student correspondence using word processing and email programs.
