About The Position

The Financial Advisor Trainee learns the basics of the retail financial services industry and studies for and passes registration examinations. The trainee must obtain the necessary registrations within a set period and graduate to Financial Advisor Associate. The role includes training, beginning to develop a business plan, attending client meetings, and assisting Financial Advisors with administrative and client-related work under their direction and tutelage.

Requirements

Obtain the Series 7 and Series 63 and 65, or Series 66, within the designated time period.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Must be available to start as soon as possible.

Nice To Haves

Candidates who already hold the Series 7 and Series 63 and 65, or Series 66 licenses are preferred.
An undergraduate degree, preferably with an emphasis on business and communications.

Responsibilities

Attend in-house training on products and services, building a book of business, Janney systems, practice management, and compliance.
Begin to develop a business plan.
Attend client meetings with Financial Advisors.
Perform clerical and administrative functions as directed by Financial Advisors.
Under the direction and tutelage of Financial Advisors and Branch Managers, potentially assist with client profiling, identifying client objectives and risk tolerance, and preparing recommendations and advice.
Begin to develop knowledge of financial products and markets and the regulatory landscape.
Study for and pass the Series 7, Series 66 (or Series 63 and 65), and any state insurance examinations required by Branch Managers.
