About The Position

The LSU System office Financial Accountant reports to the Business Manager, LSU System Office of the President. This position is responsible for the compilation, preparation, review, and submission of accounting transactions and reports on the LSU System. A successful candidate must exhibit a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparing responses to requests from various stakeholders including but not limited to: monitoring and compiling fiscal note requests to report potential financial impact to all LSU System campuses of bills proposed during legislative session; coordination and compilation of the Quarterly Receivable & Bad Debt Report to the Louisiana OSRSP; coordination and compilation of the annual Accounts Receivable Write-off Report for BOS approval; coordination and compilation of the System Investment Report; preparation of the Semi-Annual Financial Report to the BOS; Affiliated Entities Report; and ad hoc reports.
  • Completes accounting and business transactions in LSU’s Workday Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system including deposits of checks, creation of journal entries, creation of procurement requisitions, and invoice processing. Monitors and reconciles ledgers for the LSU System departmental and LSU Foundation accounts.
  • Assists with Budget Preparation – Reviews, coordinates, and compiles all LSU system campuses’ budget request forms for submission to the Board of Regents and the Louisiana Office of Planning and Budget.
  • Serves as Asset Custodian for the LSU System Office of the President and Health Affairs; orders supplies, and processes vendor payments for departmental operations and events.
