About The Position

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our team! We're seeking a Financial Accountant to join us in a vital role managing complex accounting for general ledger accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of our financial records. You'll be part of a dynamic team focused on delivering solutions for all GMP customers and you will use your financial expertise, collaborative track record, and customer-focused attitude to support month-end close activities, analyze and reconcile general ledger activity, and prepare financial and regulatory reports.

  • Excel experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries and actively participate in month end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger account activity to ensure the ledger is correct.
  • Support power supply with review of purchase power agreements and properly account for power transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and make recommendations regarding needed changes and process efficiency improvements.
  • Assist with special projects by gathering information and providing supporting analysis as requested.
  • Utilize accounting knowledge and experience to ensure new financial accounting pronouncements and transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
  • Prepare accounting memos for new accounting requirements.
  • Back up for power supply accounting, derivatives and unbilled revenue analysis.
  • Assist with Pension accounting entries.
  • Respond to requests from other departments as necessary.

  • Competitive salary range of $85,000-$115,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the scope of responsibilities.
