About The Position

ICON is a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation focused on accelerating the delivery of new medicines and treatments to patients. We are seeking a Financial Accountant II for an 18-month fixed-term contract to join our finance team and contribute to a global transformation program. This role is suited for a qualified accountant with experience in a project-based setting, who will represent General Ledger (GL) Finance in cross-functional project management meetings. The position involves ensuring finance requirements are integrated into technical and business designs and fostering collaboration among various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • 1–2 years PQE with strong accounts preparation experience.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and local GAAP processes.
  • Proven ability to work in a project-based environment; project management experience or exposure is highly desirable.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Oracle Financials is a plus.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities & deadlines.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, adapting to diverse working environments.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the country where the role is based.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Oracle Financials is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Represent GL Finance in cross-functional project management meetings, ensuring finance requirements are understood and implemented.
  • Act as a key liaison between finance and other business units during transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams including Group Finance, Tax, Legal, IT, and Internal Audit to deliver project plans.
  • Support FSCP and US GAAP close processes across the GL finance function.
  • Identify, develop & implement opportunities for process improvement across finance function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Drive standardization and automation of finance processes, embedding best practices across the organization.
  • Lead and support initiatives to integrate and standardize financial systems, ensuring seamless data flow and accurate reporting.
  • Manage user acceptance testing (UAT), troubleshoot integration issues, and deliver training and ongoing support to end users.
  • Maintain a proactive, detail-oriented approach, consistently focused on process improvement, organization, and thorough execution.
  • Ensure all processes adhere to SOX compliance standards.
  • Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Drive project timelines, manage stakeholders, and contribute to successful delivery of finance-related transformation projects.
