Finance US Tax Consultant (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
About The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Finance US Tax Consultant with extensive experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 Finance) to support, implement, and optimize tax-related business processes across U.S. operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in U.S. federal, state, and local tax regulations, financial processes, and ERP solution design, with proven experience in Dynamics 365 Finance implementations and support projects. The consultant will collaborate with finance, accounting, tax, and technology teams to ensure compliance, streamline tax operations, and deliver scalable ERP solutions that support business growth and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in Finance and Tax consulting.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 Finance).
- Strong knowledge of: U.S. Sales & Use Tax, Federal and State Tax Regulations, Tax Compliance and Reporting, General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank Management.
- Experience in at least 2-3 end-to-end D365 Finance implementation projects.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and taxation processes.
- Experience working with cross-functional business and technical teams.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate.
- Experience with tax engines such as: Avalara, Vertex, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE.
- Knowledge of Power Platform, Power BI, and workflow automation.
- Experience with Azure integrations and data migration tools.
- Exposure to multinational tax environments and global ERP deployments.
- Preferred Industry Experience: Manufacturing, Retail & E-commerce, Distribution & Supply Chain, Healthcare, Financial Services, Professional Services.
Responsibilities
- Lead functional design, configuration, and implementation of tax solutions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.
- Configure and maintain U.S. tax requirements, including: Sales & Use Tax, Federal and State Tax Compliance, Withholding Tax, Tax Reporting and Reconciliation, Multi-State Tax Requirements.
- Gather business requirements and conduct fit-gap analysis for tax and finance processes.
- Design and implement tax rules, tax groups, tax codes, and statutory compliance configurations.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tax calculations, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing activities.
- Work closely with technical teams on integrations, data migration, customizations, and reporting requirements.
- Create detailed functional design documents, process flows, test scripts, and user training materials.
- Conduct System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and deployment support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve tax-related issues within D365 Finance.
- Provide advisory services on tax process optimization and ERP best practices.
- Support global and U.S. rollout projects, upgrades, and post-production support activities.
- Ensure compliance with evolving federal, state, and local tax regulations.
