About The Position

A highly respected national law firm is seeking a Finance Transactions Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing lenders, borrowers, private equity sponsors, and other financial institutions in sophisticated commercial finance transactions.

Requirements

4–6 years of commercial finance, banking, or secured lending experience gained at a law firm
Experience representing lenders, borrowers, private equity sponsors, and/or financial institutions in sophisticated financing transactions
Experience handling secured lending transactions, syndicated credit facilities, acquisition financings, and other commercial finance matters
Experience drafting and negotiating credit agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, and related financing documentation
Working knowledge of Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code and secured lending concepts
Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
Excellent academic credentials
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Experience managing transaction workstreams and coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, and other advisors
Ability to work directly with clients and assume significant responsibility
