About The Position

The Finance Strategy & Transformation Principal leads strategic planning and business management for the Finance leadership team, providing direct support to the CFO and Finance Transformation initiatives while reporting to the Vice President of Finance Transformation. This leader acts as the Chief of Staff to the CEO to translate enterprise and Finance priorities into clear strategies, operating rhythms, executive forums, and execution plans that enable the Finance leadership team to achieve business and financial results efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong business and financial acumen, executive-level communication, and an in-depth understanding of how organizational capabilities interrelate across the Finance function and broader enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8 or more years of project progressive scope and/or leadership experience with relevant experience, preferably in the healthcare sector
  • Cultivates and maintains a broad network of collaborative relationships across the enterprise, allowing quick navigation to get information, guidance, or to clear the path for new initiatives
  • Experience working within the Finance function and partnering across Finance, Technology, Data & Analytics, or Enterprise Transformation organizations
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to bridge the strategic vision with the tactical delivery and drive consensus accordingly
  • Proven track record of successful team leadership and development
  • Executive communications experience both written and verbal
  • Record of successful cross-functional collaboration on complex initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build trusted relationships with senior and executive level audiences
  • Quickly assimilates new information and grasps new concepts, strong business and financial acumen

Responsibilities

  • Strategic annual planning support – Collaborate with senior team members to determine and prioritize business strategies. Coordinate with leadership to complete vision / mission / goals and articulate strategic priorities. Shape the team's vision, principles, and other far-reaching strategy documents. Direct dependencies and other inter-related efforts across teams (especially when priorities conflict) and facilitate work by ensuring teams have the resources they need.
  • Manage the office and rhythm of business - Establish, document, and mature repeatable processes for critical business functions that occur on a regular cadence such as strategic planning, org design reviews and headcount planning, and goal setting, along with the overall planning and execution tempo of financial and operational support forums. Partner with human resources, finance, operations, actuarial, procurement, and legal among other teams to ensure the organization's smooth operation.
  • Internal and executive communications – Develop presentations, recommendations, and executive-level communications that clearly articulate objectives, progress, outcomes, risks, and realized value. Assemble regular updates on business activities to generate cross-team awareness, support leadership forums, and reinforce organizational culture, values, behavioral expectations, and associate engagement.
  • Portfolio and initiative management – Partner with ELT and Finance leadership to ensure strategic alignment across Finance priorities and initiatives. Collaborate with the Finance Portfolio Management team and cross-functional partners to support prioritization, sequencing, and coordination of interdependent deliverables across related initiatives.
  • Execution, performance monitoring, and value realization – Drive execution of select initiatives, including project planning, stakeholder coordination, issue resolution, progress monitoring, and executive reporting. Define, align, and monitor key performance indicators and value metrics to evaluate initiative success, identify gaps, measure business impact, and recommend improvements.
  • Stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration – Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across Finance, Technology, Data & Analytics, Governance, and business teams to gather feedback, facilitate senior leader discussions, and drive decisions. Promote collaboration and best-practice sharing across Finance and partner organizations to advance alignment and continuous improvement.
  • Solution design, innovation, and risk management – Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, automation, and innovative approaches to improve Finance capabilities, performance, and operational effectiveness. Analyze operational, financial, and strategic considerations to help leaders evaluate investment options, business decisions, risks, and opportunities.
  • Organizational change and capability building – Support organizational change management activities, including communications, training, stakeholder readiness, and capability-building efforts that enable adoption of new processes, tools, operating models, and ways of working.
