About The Position

The Director, Strategy & Transformation is a key leadership role within Dexcom’s Global Operations & Quality organization, reporting directly to the EVP, Global Operations & Quality. This role is responsible for defining, orchestrating, and executing the end-to-end operations and quality strategy across the Plan–Source–Make–Deliver value chain. This leader will own the development, execution, and annual refresh of Dexcom’s operations North Star strategy, driving alignment through Hoshin Kanri deployment and ensuring translation into executable transformation roadmaps. The role combines enterprise strategy, transformation leadership, and hands-on execution to enable scalable, resilient growth while driving performance across cost, quality, service, and speed. The Director will act as a strategic integrator across manufacturing, supply chain, and quality, partnering closely with plant leaders and global stakeholders to elevate performance and build world-class operational capabilities. Dexcom is experiencing rapid global growth, increasing product complexity, and expanding manufacturing and supply chain networks. To support this trajectory, the organization must: Scale a globally integrated operating model across Plan–Source–Make–Deliver, Establish consistent performance systems and KPIs across all sites, Drive network expansion, supplier ecosystem maturity, and operational resilience, Advance quality and operational excellence capabilities, Build a future-ready operations strategy aligned to Dexcom 2030 and Dexcom 360 goals. The Director, Strategy & Transformation will play a central role in designing and delivering this transformation.

Requirements

  • Proven track record leading large-scale transformation initiatives in global, regulated environments (medical device, pharma, or advanced manufacturing preferred).
  • Deep expertise in: End-to-end value chain operations (Plan–Source–Make–Deliver), Manufacturing and plant operations, Global supply and demand planning, Supply chain strategy and network design, Operational excellence (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Experience deploying Hoshin Kanri, VSM, and enterprise performance management systems.
  • Strong track record of communicating and influencing at executive leadership levels while driving cross-functional alignment.
  • Policy Deployment with excellent synthesis and communication skills across the organization.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of industry experience.
  • 9+ years of successful management.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Examples of English language proficiency may include (but are not limited to): ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to verbally communicate with leadership, employees, and auditors; ability to comprehend spoken language.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Dexcom’s end-to-end operations and quality strategy across Plan–Source–Make–Deliver.
  • Own the definition, deployment, and annual refresh of the operations North Star, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities (Dexcom 2030 / Dexcom 360).
  • Drive strategy deployment through Hoshin Kanri, ensuring clear linkage from enterprise priorities to functional and site-level execution.
  • Establish integrated operating models, performance frameworks, and governance mechanisms.
  • Architect and execute a multi-year transformation roadmap aligned to high-growth objectives.
  • Lead enterprise initiatives including: Manufacturing network expansion and footprint strategy, Supplier ecosystem development and diversification, Operational resilience and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Own Value Stream Mapping (VSM) for current and future state design, driving delivery of transformation milestones.
  • Ensure transformation initiatives are prioritized, sequenced, and executed with measurable outcomes.
  • Drive the evolution of supplier strategy and development models, enabling strategic partnerships and long-term value creation.
  • Partner with Procurement and Supplier Development teams to strengthen: Supplier performance and capability, Cost competitiveness and resilience, Strategic alignment with Dexcom growth objectives.
  • Advance next-generation supplier ecosystem frameworks aligned to scalability and innovation.
  • Advance next-generation Quality and Operational Excellence capabilities across the enterprise.
  • Drive improvements in: QMS maturity and standardization, Right-first-time execution, Continuous improvement systems (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Ensure alignment between quality, compliance, and operational performance objectives.
  • Establish enterprise-wide performance tracking and reporting frameworks linked to strategic objectives.
  • Provide data-driven insights to executive leadership on transformation progress, risks, and value realization.
  • Lead governance forums to ensure alignment, accountability, and execution discipline.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Strategy & Transformation organization.
  • Develop talent with strong expertise in: Plant leadership, Supply chain operations, Strategy and transformation execution.
  • Foster a culture of: Accountability and ownership, Agility and speed, Enterprise-wide collaboration and alignment.
