As a Finance Specialist, you are responsible for helping Farm Credit East meet its financial goals and business objectives by providing accounting, financial reporting, and operational support as part of the Finance team. You perform general accounting responsibilities, applying knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and concepts. You are responsible for specific accounting entries, reconciliations and analyzing assigned general ledger accounts as a critical component of the month end closing process. You will also interact with Financial Partners, Inc, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Farm Credit Administration, and CoBank examiners as necessary regarding Farm Credit East operations and reporting requirements. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agri-Business, Economics, Finance, Business or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage daily loan pricing requests and transactions with FC East’s lending team, processing special pricing requests and coordinate with our funding bank CoBank to ensure timely responses and accurate documentation.
  • Review daily pricing exception and penalty fee reports, research discrepancies, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and CoBank to resolve issues and ensure compliance with established pricing guidelines.
  • Maintain and distribute daily loan rates sheets, monitor forward rate lock activity and aging reports, and update operational tracking reports to support lending and Treasury activities.
  • Prepare and maintain recurring daily, weekly, monthly financial reports, and reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, updating key metrics and ratios, and identifying items requiring follow-up or correction.
  • Prepares regulatory, management, and board reports and provides analysis utilizing report writers/data bases, exercising appropriate controls to ensure financial reporting integrity.
  • Provides credit support to customers and other team members including verbal and written communications with the customers and vendors.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports, analysis, and supporting documentation to assist management with operational, financial, and business initiatives.
  • Works closely with Marketplace, Regional and Association management on special projects as assigned or delegated.
  • Performs special projects that support the requirements of the Operations/Financial group, including supervision of other operations group staff during manager absences.
  • Participates in Association level projects designed to improve efficiency, ensure quality and/or further Association objectives.
  • Develops and maintains automated accounting system reports, and excel spreadsheets.
