The Finance Officer is IEEFA Australia's primary in-country finance professional, responsible for day-to-day financial operations, external vendor coordination, and ensuring consistent implementation of financial policies and procedures. IEEFA Australia outsources its core accounting and payroll functions to an external firm (currently Accounting for Good) and is establishing its first Employer of Record (EOR) service for international staff, primarily in Asia. This role liaises with the US-based Finance team to ensure consistent coding, reporting, and financial controls across entities. The Finance Officer works closely with the Australia-based CEO and Operations Manager, and reports to the US-based Global Finance Manager. This is a remote position, based anywhere in Australia with opportunities to travel for in-person meetings and events. IEEFA is an NGO/not-for-profit that researches and analyses financial and economic issues related to energy markets, trends, and policies. Headquartered in the United States, IEEFA has a team of 90+ analysts and communications personnel located in 16 countries across the globe. IEEFA produces a significant volume of original research and ongoing analysis and reports on issues affecting energy industries. Established in 2021, IEEFA Australia is a subsidiary of the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (headquartered in the US). Both entities are primarily funded by public, private and family foundations based in the US, Australia and other countries.
