About The Position

The Finance Manager of Turning Point Church is responsible for the effective management and stewardship of all financial-related activities of the church. This role involves managing donations, preparing financial statements, overseeing the budgeting process, and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Degree in finance/accounting or related field (essential).
  • 3-5 years of work experience as a Finance Manager or Accounting Clerk (essential).
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
  • Solid proficiency in Google, Microsoft Office, SAP, and other financial planning software.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Collection, counting, and processing of all weekday and weekend donations, ensuring proper coding and attribution through online management software.
  • Preparation and maintenance of all weekly bank deposits and donation check scans for record keeping.
  • Assisting members with donation refunds or record corrections.
  • Reviewing and approving weekly cash reports and invoices for payment prioritization with church accounting partners.
  • Assisting with staff-issued credit and debit cards, ensuring timely collection and coding of receipts.
  • Providing weekly and monthly giving reports, detailing campus giving, top givers, and new/lapsed givers.
  • Tracking and exploring methods to encourage new givers and provide financial stewardship resources.
  • Preparing and communicating monthly and annual financial statements for the Senior/Lead Pastor and Executive Team.
  • Providing and/or presenting financial reports at board meetings as requested.
  • Overseeing the annual budgeting process and departmental funding distribution.
  • Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
  • Remaining up-to-date on nonprofit audit best practices and state and federal law regarding nonprofit operations.
