Additionally, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored visa support.  Job Overview: The Finance Manager supporting Marketing is a highly strategic and influential leader responsible for driving the financial performance, investment efficiency, and return on marketing spend across all channels. This role reports to the Vice President, FP&A and serves as a key partner to leadership in Marketing, Digital, E-commerce, and Operations to ensure marketing investments align with company growth and profitability objectives. This position requires a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical rigor to optimize marketing ROI, improve customer acquisition and retention economics, support brand initiatives, and ensure disciplined budget management. As a leader of talent, you will foster a collaborative and high-performing culture aligned with company vision and values. The ideal candidate brings deep understanding of retail and omnichannel marketing dynamics, performance analytics, and financial modeling expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required. MBA or professional certifications (CPA, CFA) preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, or marketing finance, preferably within retail or consumer-focused industries.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role managing analysts or cross-functional projects.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and advanced data analysis; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Deep understanding of marketing performance metrics (e.g., ROAS, CAC, LTV, contribution margin, customer retention, media efficiency).
  • Strong understanding of retail and omnichannel business models.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear business insights.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and proactive mindset.
  • Experience with financial planning and business intelligence systems such as: D365, Adaptive, Snowflake, Anaplan, Hyperion, Power BI, and marketing analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the annual marketing budget and long-range financial plans across brand, digital, performance marketing, CRM, loyalty, promotions, and media investments.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to forecast marketing spend, traffic, customer acquisition, conversion, sales lift, and contribution margin.
  • Partner with Marketing leadership to allocate investments across channels to maximize return and support strategic growth initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the financial model for our Pool Perks Loyalty Program, providing deep insight into customer behavior by segment—including spend patterns, visit frequency, attachment rates, redemption activity, and other key performance indicators—to inform strategy, optimize program economics, and elevate the overall customer experience.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of marketing performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Analyze ROI, ROAS, CAC, LTV, incremental sales, and contribution margin by channel and campaign.
  • Identify variances, risks, and opportunities, delivering actionable insights to senior leadership to guide resource allocation and investment decisions.
  • Develop executive-ready reporting dashboards and KPIs to measure effectiveness and efficiency of marketing initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with Marketing, Digital, Merchandising, E-commerce, and Operations teams to align financial and commercial strategies.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Merch teams to assess promotional impact on margin and inventory.
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate accruals, vendor funding reconciliation, and expense recognition.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish standardized financial processes and governance for marketing investments.
  • Support transformational initiatives including customer growth strategies, loyalty programs, marketing technology implementations, and omnichannel expansion.
  • Provide financial modeling and scenario planning for new customer acquisition strategies and brand investments.
  • Identify business risks and opportunities related to customer behavior, competitive pressures, and evolving media landscapes.
