About The Position

Anthropic is seeking a Finance Lead to own and support various data center strategic initiatives. In this role, you will be a key partner to our technical teams, providing financial expertise and guidance as we build out our data center footprint. You will manage large, complex, and cross-functional transactions, working with internal stakeholders and external partners to responsibly drive data center expansion and de-risk our capacity plans. You will also work closely with our Capital Markets & Corporate Development teams on a wide range of strategic projects and financing-related initiatives.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in strategic finance, infrastructure investing, private equity, or investment banking, preferably with datacenter, energy, real estate, or other infrastructure experience
  • Executed investments or M&A transactions, preferably with a focus on technology or digital infrastructure
  • Exceptional analytical skills with an ability to synthesize data into compelling insights and develop complex financial models
  • Comfort managing both internal and external stakeholders, including deeply technical business partners
  • A bias towards action, strong work ethic, and experience driving operational outcomes under tight timelines
  • Strong relationship building, business judgment, process management, and communication skills
  • Passion for Anthropic's mission to build safe, transformative AI systems
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
  • A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
  • Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience executing large-scale data center or compute-related transactions
  • Background in AI, ML, or high-performance, large-scale computing infrastructure
  • Experience in both investing and operating, within digital infrastructure or technology more broadly
  • Proficiency with financial modeling tools and languages (SQL, Python, Excel)
  • MBA or other advanced degree in finance, economics, or business

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic initiatives to support datacenter expansion and identify new potential areas of focus
  • Negotiate complex transactions with external counterparties and drive internal cross-functional alignment
  • Manage data center pipeline, partnering closely with FP&A leads to track and benchmark economics across the portfolio
  • Partner with Capital Markets & Corporate Development on datacenter project financing across the capital structure
  • Own FP&A related to these initiatives, largely tied to tracking and forecasting capex and cash flow driven by your projects
  • Build detailed financial models to support strategic decision-making
  • Run budget-vs-actual on datacenter developer spend and site build budgets, tracking expected eventual spend against approved commitments
  • Partner with Accounting on contract operationalization, lease accounting, and close
