About The Position

Cox Automotive is looking for a Finance Intern to join their Inventory Solutions Finance team. This internship is a temporary employment opportunity with the potential for full-time consideration after graduation, depending on business needs. The intern will work on challenging projects, interact with experts, and contribute to the company's marketplace strategy, which involves connecting physical auctions and digital channels into a seamless experience. The core project will focus on evaluating technology investments, understanding their alignment with the strategy, and developing a framework to assess their financial impact and other forms of value. The role involves analyzing data, simplifying findings, and assisting in the preparation of executive-level presentations.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics or a related field.
• Comfortable in Excel and curious about working with data.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable speaking honestly to all levels of the business.
• Solid analytical and research abilities.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

• Curious, comfortable with questions that don't have obvious answers, and able to explain complicated things in plain language.

Responsibilities

• Learning the marketplace strategy and major technology investments supporting it.
• Connecting investments to the strategy they support to show where money is going and why.
• Building a simple, repeatable framework to evaluate investments, considering financial impact and other value forms like efficiency, speed, or client experience.
• Analyzing raw data, repackaging it, simplifying it, and determining key takeaways.
• Testing the developed framework against real investments.
• Assisting with the development of presentations for an executive-level audience.
