About The Position

The Rescue Mission Alliance is a nonprofit organization committed to ending hunger and homelessness. Our work is rooted in compassion, respect, and service—providing shelter, food, clothing, and hope to those in need. We are seeking a Finance Intern to support our Finance Department with day-to-day accounting responsibilities and projects. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in areas such as accounts receivable, reconciliations, data entry, and financial record keeping. This position is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field who is interested in gaining practical experience in a nonprofit finance environment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
• Passion for the mission and vision of the Rescue Mission

Responsibilities

• Assist with grant payment reconciliation
• Assist with accounts receivable reconciliation
• Assist with accounts receivable invoice entry
• Assist with custody account deposit entry
• Organize and maintain store receipts for record keeping
• Assist with day-to-day accounting responsibilities as needed
• Support Finance Department projects and other assigned tasks
• Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation
• Follow organizational safety policies and procedures
• Promote a safety-first attitude while completing assigned responsibilities
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned
