Swagelok offers an immersive 12-week summer internship program designed to provide interns with valuable hands-on experience through meaningful projects, fostering both personal and professional development. Interns will combine classroom learning with applied work experience in Finance, leading impactful projects focused on continuous improvement, enhancing quality, optimizing cost-saving measures, or advancing safety measures. The program challenges interns to apply and develop technical and interpersonal skills, improve problem-solving abilities, and collaborate with other associates. The internship includes networking opportunities, business learning, engagement with associate resource groups, facility tours, professional development, and community volunteering. Interns will have direct engagement with executives and industry experts, and opportunities for resume reviews and mock interviews.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program; minimum of a sophomore year completion in a Bachelor’s degree program in Finance or Accounting.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Able to work 10-12 weeks consecutively during the summer.
  • Open to working in Solon, OH without relocation support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead impactful projects focused on continuous improvement, enhancing quality, optimizing cost-saving measures, or advancing safety measures of processes and/or products.
  • Apply and develop technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Improve problem-solving skills and collaborate with other Swagelok associates.
  • Participate in networking, learning the business, Swagelok associate resource groups, facility tours, professional development, and community volunteering.
  • Engage directly with executives and leading experts in the industry.
  • Participate in resume reviews and mock interviews.
  • Work with all functional groups within Finance, including Financial Planning & Analysis, Cost Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Risk, and Audit.
  • Automate existing manual Excel processes using PowerBI Pro.
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries.
  • Partner with Cost Accounting, attending variance meetings, assisting with month-end data pulls, and completing ad-hoc analysis as needed.
  • Assist in budget analysis.
  • Assist the Audit team in completing risk-based audits.
  • Work with Financial Reporting on month-end reconciliations and related analysis.
  • Undertake additional projects as determined on an as-needed basis.
