About The Position

As the Director of Finance, you will oversee all financial aspects of the business and drive the account’s financial strategy and planning. You will assist with all the accounting and control functions at the account including all revenue and expense reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and monthly financial reporting requirements. Other duties will include oversight of the preparation of the Divisional Monthly Operations Review data, annual budget process, and monthly forecasting for the assigned accounts. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for monitoring internal control, and performance metric reporting for the divisions. Ideal candidate must be based out of Rochester, MN, or Jacksonville, FL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University in Accounting or Finance
  • Five plus years of related experience, including reporting and analysis
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Independent thinking with ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Detail orientation and ability to analyze data, trends and processes.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Strong organization and time management skills are necessary to manage and complete multiple and shifting priorities/projects with accuracy and timeliness
  • Strong professional and interpersonal skills (negotiation and influencing others) as well as written communication skills
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

  • Strong experience with SAP, Excel, Power Point and Access

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Consolidates, analyzes, and presents monthly financial statements to operational and client leadership
  • Oversee the monthly close process and working closely with the field accounting team to continually improve the close process
  • Works closely with operational & client leadership to provide financial guidance and direction
  • Assists in compiling and analyzing budgets & forecasts, considering "what if" scenarios and bringing forth suggestions
  • Analyze and review of weekly and monthly results and working closely with the operational team developing action plans to resolve financial issues.
  • Manage and control the annual budgeting process and assist with the presentation to Divisional Management.
  • Oversee/Manage bookkeeping duties including office manager, bookkeeper or other admin support staff
  • Ensure sound financial control throughout the system and work closely with the Internal Audit Department to ensure:
  • ICR Reporting Compliance
  • Audit report recommendations are implemented promptly
  • Cash handling disciplines are in place
