About The Position

As the Tonkin Family of Dealerships expands, they are seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead a high-performing finance department in one of their Portland-area locations. This leadership role offers balance, influence, and long-term growth, with opportunities to make a meaningful impact and clear career development. The Finance Director will oversee the financial services department, structure competitive financing and insurance solutions for guests, and ensure all transactions comply with regulations and manufacturer standards, while also leading and mentoring a successful team. This position is ideal for an automotive finance professional with prior management experience and a proven leadership track record, looking to advance their career within a growing and respected dealership group.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in automotive F&I management or a Director-level role
  • Extensive knowledge of dealership DMS systems (CDK, Dealertrack, or Reynolds & Reynolds)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Able to pass a criminal background check
  • A pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the F&I team to achieve department goals while maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide network of lenders to secure the best rates and terms for our clients
  • Oversee the presentation and sale of financing, service contracts, and ancillary products
  • Ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, and local regulations throughout the contracting process
  • Review and manage the "Contracts in Transit" (CIT) list to ensure timely funding and accurate accounting
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers to streamline the deal-to-delivery process
