About The Position

The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. is seeking a Finance Director for Direct Procurement. This role will serve as the finance lead for direct procurement, responsible for developing and overseeing the financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. The position involves partnering with the Direct team to drive year-over-year cost savings, preparing and communicating the Long-Range Plan (LRP) and annual savings targets, and managing the procurement budget while estimating departmental expenses. The role also includes reviewing capital projects for compliance and ROI, providing in-depth financial analysis and reporting on direct procurement activities, overseeing direct materials spend, monitoring and analyzing procurement costs, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Additionally, the Finance Director will review PPV and Production Variances globally, conduct analysis for cost changes, and ensure necessary rollouts. In performance monitoring and reporting, the Finance Director will support Direct Procurement team savings projects by monitoring savings against targeted opportunities and communicating results monthly/quarterly. They will drive standardized and efficient closing practices for Inbound Transportation globally, support Inbound Transportation savings projects, and ensure consistency in reporting savings versus added value. The role also involves driving enhanced TPM and dTPM reporting for actionable insights across the manufacturing landscape and monitoring third-party partners’ expenses, invoicing, and savings for alignment with contracted delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance or Engineering
  • At least 7 years related experience
  • Excellent business partnering, influencing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently in an unstructured environment and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Deep understanding of direct procurement processes, transportation logistics and cost optimization strategies
  • Expertise in developing, managing and reporting on budgets and forecasts
  • Advanced ability to conduct thorough analysis related to procurement costs, supplier performance and market trends
  • Strong leadership to guide financial strategy and coordinate with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the financial strategy for direct procurement, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Partner with the Direct team on the development of strategy to drive year-over-year Cost Savings.

  • Provide in-depth financial analysis and reporting related to direct procurement activities including tracking and analyzing procurement costs, supplier performance, and market trends.
  • Oversee direct materials spend.
  • Monitor and analyze procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Review PPV and Production Variances globally. Conduct analysis regarding the need for cost changes and ensure rollout as needed.
  • Support Direct Procurement team savings projects via monitoring of savings vs targeted opportunity by project and communicate results monthly/quarterly.
  • Drive Inbound Transportation standardized efficient closing practices on a global basis.
  • Support Inbound Transportation savings projects through tracking of savings initiatives vs target and communicating results on monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Ensure consistency of reporting savings vs. added value (cost avoidances, NPL etc).
  • Drive enhanced TPM and dTPM reporting to provide actionable insights across the Manufacturing landscape.
  • Monitor third-party partners’ expenses, invoicing, and savings to ensure alignment with contracted savings delivery.
  • Support the Direct teams to provide sound internal financial controls environment.
