About The Position

Robinson Huron Waawiindamaagewin is seeking a Finance Clerk to join the Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, with a primary focus on accounts payable processing and payroll administration. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality while working in a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration.
  • Experience with accounts payable and payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with accounting or financial management software is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous governance organizations, public sector, or non-profit finance is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Process invoices and ensure appropriate approvals and coding.
  • Prepare and process payment batches including cheques and electronic payments.
  • Maintain accounts payable records and vendor files.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and processing.
  • Maintain payroll records including timesheets and deductions.
  • Ensure payroll information is accurate and submitted on schedule.
  • Assist with payroll reporting and statutory remittances.
  • Maintain organized financial filing systems.
  • Assist with financial data entry and record keeping.
  • Support financial reporting and audit preparation.
  • Respond to staff and vendor inquiries related to payments and payroll.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance department as required.
