About The Position

The Finance Clerk is an 8-week term position supporting Ottawa Salus’ Finance team through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role provides administrative and financial support to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial processes and records.

Requirements

Must meet eligibility requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program and Ottawa Salus pre-employment requirements
Currently a post-secondary student or recent graduate in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with or understanding of computerized accounting systems (e.g., Sage 300); additional training will be provided
Strong analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Comfortable working with computers and learning new systems
English is required.

Bilingualism (English/French) an asset.

Responsibilities

Ensure accuracy in data input, management, and integrity of financial information
Update and maintain financial records, filing systems, and track financial transactions
Compile financial spreadsheets, reports, statements, and other documents as needed
Assist with administrative tasks, including completing forms, filing, and responding to phone calls and emails

Complete other related tasks as required in a timely manner
